Child Seats

Alaska Seat Belt and Child Restraint Laws
Alaska requires every occupant of a motor vehicle to be
buckled up. All children under four years of age must be
properly secured in a federally-approved child safety seat
when being transported in a motor vehicle . A child four
years of age or older, riding in a motor vehicle, must be
properly secured in a child safety device for a child of that
age and size, or in a safety belt, whichever is appropriate.
The driver of a motor vehicle is legally responsible for
buckling in children.
