Airbags

Air bags are designed to provide supplemental protection for belted front-seat occupants in a frontal crash. Lap/shoulder belts must always be used in conjunction with an airbag to protect occupants in side-impact and roll-over crashes. Air bags work best when everyone is buckled and children, especially those age 12 and younger, are properly restrained in the back seat. If you transport children, check the vehicle and child restraint manufacturers’ recommendations for child restraint use in vehicles with side air bags.
