Rumble Strips
DelDOT installed centerline rumble strips along Route 301 after experiencing a high fatality rate from head-on collisions. As a result, a 90 percent decrease in the head-on collision rate and a zero fatality rate has been documented. These decreases were achieved, in spite of a 30 percent increase in traffic. The total cost of the project was approximately $15,000.
