Programs

There are many risks of premature death in Georgia; none is greater than our roadways. Traffic crashes are the leading cause of unintentional injury deaths in Georgia and the number one cause of death among children ages 1 to 9 in Georgia. In 2003, 6,731 children were injured and 40 were killed in car crashes in Georgia.

Each of the Injury Prevention Section's (IPS) Occupant Safety Programs seeks to ensure that Georgia's children are safe while riding in motor vehicles.
