Among all Georgia motor vehicle accident deaths, about 59% were due to roadway departures, 19% were intersection related, 15% fatalities in crashes involving large trucks, and 178 nonmotorist (pedestrians and bicyclists) fatalities. Of 1603 motorists killed in motor-vehicle crashes 46% were passenger car occupants and 32% were light truck passengers.
