Graduated License
Graduated Licensing Nevada has a graduated licensing law.
• Instruction Permit:
In order to obtain an instruction permit, a person must be at least 15 years,6 months old, have the consent of a parent or guardian, and must pass a written test. People with an instruction permit cannot drive unsupervised.
• License:
May be obtained after completing at least 50 hours of supervised driving, holding an instruction permit for 90 days if the person is under 16 years of age;60 days if the person is 16 years old; or 30 days if the person is 17 years old. The person must also have completed driver education unless he/she attended a school located in a county with a population less than 50,000 or a city or town with a population less than 25,000 that does not offer driver education.
- Passenger Restrictions: Drivers with licenses must not carry passengers younger than 18 other than family members.
• Full licensure:
Driving restrictions end after 90 days if the person is under 16 years of age;60 days if the person is 16 years old;30 days if the person is 17 years old. Crashes or violations may delay the process
