School Buses

Cars are required by law to stop when a school bus is dismissing passengers. Still, children should understand that when crossing the street after getting off the bus, they must first make eye contact with the bus driver, walk at least 10 feet out in front of the bus to the edge and look left-right-left before crossing the street.

Parents, remember to purchase children's clothing with out strings or ties. If your child's clothing, coat or school bag does have loose strings, hood ties, etc., it is best to remove them. There have been instances where children's clothing has been caught on school bus handrails and the bus driver is unaware after the bus door is shut.
