• There were 5,313,167 licensed drivers, a 1.06 percent increase from 2003
• There were 78,877,026,000 estimated vehicle miles traveled, a 2.66 percent increase from 2003
• There were 7,037,698 registered vehicles, a 2.98 percent increase from 2003
Alcohol-Related Facts
• 343 persons were killed in alcohol-related crashes, a 4.99 percent decrease from 2003*
• 7,911 persons were injured in alcohol-related crashes, a 1.18 percent increase from 2003
• 42 teenagers, aged 15-19, were killed in alcohol-related crashes, 4.56 percent of the total (922) traffic fatalities
• 903 teenagers, aged 15-19, were injured in alcohol-related crashes, 1.15 percent of the total
(78,487) traffic injuries
• 27,224 persons were tested with blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08 percent or greater a 5.03 percent increase from 2003
