The cost of a replacement placard, for those lost or stolen, is $5.00 per placard. The placard shall be displayed on the front rear view mirror of the vehicle in a manner clearly visible from the outside. When there is no rear view mirror, the placard shall be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle, clearly visible from the outside. The placard shall be displayed on the dashboard when the vehicle is in motion.

SPECIAL LICENSE PLATES
Special license plates are issued only to West Virginia residents who have a vehicle registered in their name. Only one special license plate is issued per person. Special plates can only be issued for passenger cars, trucks and vans with a gross weight of 8,000 pounds or less. These special plates will expire on July 1 of each year. All regular registration fees and requirements are applicable. Re-certification by a licensed physician is required every two years.
