Yes. You can complete the New Jersey Defensive Driving Course online, including the final exam. We will send your completion certificate to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) when you successfully pass the course.

Once you have successfully passed the course, you can download and print your certificate from the Course Completed page after seven days. Note that we directly report your course completion the MVC, so your point reduction will be processed automatically. Your course certificate must be submitted to your insurance provider to redeem your insurance discount.

If you require your certificate sooner, you can choose the option of instant digital delivery for a fee of $9.95. This will enable you to download and print the certificate immediately after passing the course. You can take the course once every five years to reduce two points from your driving record. While these points will not be permanently removed from your record, the Motor Vehicle Commission will not count them toward penalties such as a license suspension.

You can take the New Jersey defensive driving course once every three years to receive a discount on your auto insurance rate.

To qualify for a point reduction from the New Jersey defensive driving course, you:

• Must have a valid, non-commercial New Jersey driver license
• Must have points on your driving record
• Cannot have completed a point reduction course within the past five years.
